Annual Bow Hunter / Archer of the Year award form for the 2009 Archery and 3D season. The Award form must be mailed to Wade Job as soon as possible and absolutely no later than Jan. 9th to ensure the plaque and tags are printed and ready for the bow hunters banquet on Sat Jan 16th (Note: Fill out the form and address it to Wade Job's' address which is on the bottom of the form. Put on your return address and a stamp to mail to Wade Job immediately. (Plaques have to be ordered etc, so time is of the essence.)
NOTE: New club members will receive an award plaque for their first big game animal or turkey taken with a bow as a Keowee Bowmen member, and a plate to attach to the award plaque every successful year thereafter.
Remember, family members of a Family membership are also eligible to win any of the different Keowee annual awards. (Archer of the year, big buck, big hog etc.) i.e. Make a copy of the award form for any eligible family member and mail it in with yours. Wade needs the form as soon as possible to ensure the awards will be ready for the BH Banquet on Jan 16th. So PLEASE mail to Wade right away.
Renewal Application continued: You will notice a small change in the membership renewal application. There is a space where you can commit to the number of hours you are willing to work in the upcoming New Year. Please consider committing liberally to these hours. Please make a note on your renewal application which tournament you will be willing to help with in 2010. The tournament schedule is posted on our website and also in the November issue of the Kapers.
Bowhunter Banquet Details: Mark your calendar for Saturday night January the 16th for the annual Bowhunter's Banquet. You and your family are invited to attend the Annual Bowhunter's Banquet on Saturday January 16th at 6:30pm at the clubhouse. In addition to this being our annual business meeting, we will be awarding the Annual Awards; i.e. Big Buck, Keowee Archer of the year, etc., not to mention we will be giving away hundreds of dollars worth of door prizes. Once again the club will be selling some of our surplused 3D targets on a raffle type sale (you must be present to buy a target).
All antlers must be measured for the Big Buck Award, so be sure to bring your deer head/antlers (taken in the 09 season with archery equipment) for scoring to be eligible for the award.
Now for the good part (Vittles). Please bring your favorite wild game dish and either a vegetable or a dessert. If no meat please bring two covered dishes; one a vegetable and the other being a salad or a desert, the club will supply the drinks and bread.
